Is is extremaly difficult for a 15 years old to go to school in greece with knowing only little of thelanguag?

Im 15 years old and i am greek a 100% and im moving to greece in september with my family. We are moving to crete. i have a tutor that helps me 3 days a week to learn the language and i cant speak kind of good and read but i only have a second or third grade reading level for the language and rite now i am in my second year of high school. i wanted to know where do u think i would b placed for when i start school in greece in this september of 2006? please give me infornmation.. its extremely important to me . Do u think i would b placed in maybe a 3 grade class b.c i dont know the language very well to speak fluently and cant read very well ?

You should be able to pick up the language fairly quickly because you are still so young. Also, speaking it at home with your family will help.
Reply:Well, school here is difficult in general comparing to european ones. The standards are quite high, the classes are pretty tough and imagine that the maths we do here in high school, abroad they do them at university. This has to do of course with how much you wanna study and you are ready for it.


As it conserns the level of difficulty for the language..first of all, all greeks will help very much..students and teachers. We had people who didnt speak the language well at our school too and we all helped, its something that greeks do a lot!! you will probably have to pass a test to see whats your greek language level and they will tell you which class you should attend. dont worry anyway..we have many foreigners and nobody has ever complained! you will be fine!!!
