How can i improve my algebra skills?

i dont have money for a tutor, my parents are no help and neither is the teacher. plz help. i need to do way better on tests and quizzes. my already went from a F to a D then to a C.

How can i improve my algebra skills?
First of all, Algebra is not difficult. It is not rocket science. You can do it.





In most cases, a poor introduction to the course, develops into a state that you seem to be expressing.





Wipe off all that you have in your mind and Start afresh. This is very important.





Start from the first chapter and work on the basics. Do the problems. One by One. You will start developing confidence.





In Maths, if you move to the next topic, without understanding the current topic, you start accumulating handicaps. And if you continue to do so, the handicaps increase in number and you start getting frustrated.





So Try Algebra with a clean slate and you should be able to get going.

Reply:i just sat down by myself to study algebra back in highschool. much better for me then to hear it from someone else. but i did had a good teacher in middle school who was amazing at explaining things. Just sit down and think about it, get the concept.... dont just go through the steps because thats how you get confused and lose track. if you know the mechanics behind it its much easier to put together equations and whatnot. if all else fails, send me a private message and i will help you solve problems.
Reply:If the teacher isn't helping ask a counselor about helping you find a tutor. A lot of upper classmen tutor on a volunteer basis.
