Are my school grades bad?
I don't think your school grades are that bad. At least, you do your best. I feel bad for you for having a bad math teacher. i am in Junior High, and i deal with the same problem with you. Sometimes, teachers can be very tough and the whole class doesn't like them.

But, Do you still want to get a better grade?

So you and I must deal with them, and do their flavor in order to get a better grade.

Now, after a month's work for my science teacher that everybody hate, i got a 98 for her. pretty good huh?
Reply:They look reasonable dont let one grade bring you down. Its too early too be worrying about getting a C , atleast your not getting Ds.
Reply:Its too early to worry about your grades for high school.Having a good maths teacher makes it easier to learn maths. There are lots of maths sites on the internet you can go to for practice and revision.Maybe Braden good at Maths but not with computers. You are probably good at something like in the arts field. As for the teacher perhaps the kids are noisy. We only hear the one version from kids, never the the side of the teachers.
Reply:grades dont even count until [for most high schools/colleges] sophmore year.

i wouldnt even worry about a bad 5th grade teacher
Reply:The A and B sound really great! The C could probably be brought up. Have you been able to figure out what topics are challenging you the most in math? Is it probability, fractions, fact fluency, other stuff? If you went to Sylvan or another tutorial place they would identify that first, then find some practice sheets to help you master your harder areas. So you can do that yourself...figure out what you need to work on, find a friend or someone who's good at it and ask them to help explain it to you. Then PRACTICE it a lot on you're own. Since you have a mean teacher who really is beating you down, don't let yourself be a victim or let your math year be ruined. Stay up with the class by taking charge of your own education. Hang in there. Success is the best revenge. :)
Reply:If you're in 5th grade and your grades are A's, B's and C's, don't worry about them, you're fine. For one thing, college admissions counselors don't even pay attention to any grades before high school.

As far as the kid who she told to shut up and listen more...is this really a kid who didn't listen, or was the teacher being out of line?

If you are learning the material, that's the main thing. There are also websites you can go to for homework help...in fact, I see lots of people on Yahoo! Answers asking for help with homework.

Speak to your counselor at school, tell him or her about your frustrations. It's very likely that he or she has some ideas on how you could get some help that won't cost you or your family any money. The fact that you are seeking help is a pretty good sign that you really care about your schoolwork, and that should impress your counselor.

Sad to say, but there will be people in your life who you can't stand but you have to deal with anyway. Bear in mind that it's already February. Spring break will be here soon and before you know it the school year will be over and you won't have to deal with this teacher any more!
