I usually end up getting a C or B! EVEN THOUGH ALL WEEK END I WAS STUDYING@@!!!!
the point is i dont know why its soo hard for me ...even when people are getting good grades..
Ive got a tutor.. and where I live there isnt anything,..
when i say that i mean it literally..
we dont even have a movie theater..
PLZ HELP ME!
NEXT YEAR IS WHEN IT DETEERMINES FOR COLLEGE!
I WANT STRAIT A'S
NOT C!!
I need.. help... Im a visual learner and have been gettong bad grades... Im always trying as hard as I can..?
I too am a visual learner
Im not sure as to your study style, but here is what I like to do:
When I take notes, most of it is doodles and pictures that help explain the topic. I do not write in sentences, but bullet important items. When taking noted from a book, I do the same, picture what is happening with bullet explanations. google "mind map" and maybe you can get an idea of what i do.
I do not cram! it is impossible to learn something a day or two before. what i do is look at my notes every day, even if only for 30 mins.
good luck!
Reply:Keep on studying hard and soon it will be easier. Your brain just has to get on track. Some people take longer then others. That is what happened to me. Sometimes in certain subjects I still have to study harder than others.
Reply:Well, as a teacher all I can say is that knowing your a visual learner will help you understand your learning type, but in the same vein it also shows your weakness. So, don't get hung up on the fact that you are a visual learner, because not all of your classes will fit your learning style. So, don't be afraid to ask questions, make your teachers earn their pay by asking questions. Remember, they get paid to help you. So, make sure that you get them to help you understand. Also, some of your courses may not be that exciting, but in the real world we will not always get to chose what we are going to learn. So, dig in, do what you have to do to get by, don't give up and whatever happens it is not the end of the world.
Good Luck

Reply:hmmmm. You did mention that you studied all weekend, what about the rest of the week?
Its not good to cramp work to the last moment. It will be much more effective and relaxing for you to spread your work over a longer period of time.
I like to give this example: Suppose someone has 10 kgs to lose. What will be more effective, excercising 1/2 an hour every day for 30 days or 15 hours non-stop in one day?
I bet it is the first choice and he will be a lot less exhausted in the process.
People come here to yahoo to have their homework solved for them and the sad part is that there are people out there who will answer. Insist on solving the problem yourself and If you are stuck, then ask for a hint instead of a solution. Try again till you get it.
That way, you will gain a much deeper understanding . Sometimes, people get better grades simply because they knew how to prioritze their work and not necessarily because they know better.
example: they saw a dificult question in an exam and they skip it to solve the 10 other easier problems, meanwhile another student might spend all the time on that difficult problem and solve it. Grades are not always a reflection of your ability.
My last advice is to relax especially before your exam.
Reply:Keep trying and do not give up! Try reading over your notes nightly/daily for a few minutes. You might want to try rewriting your notes a couple of times or more if it helps. The important thing is to keep on trying!! All well deserved and worked for B or C holds more weight with me than a kid who doesn't have to study at all to come in and make straight A's. Strive for the goal of making the A, but don't beat yourself up if you make a B or C!
