I NEED studying tips! Please please PLEASE help me! I don't want to be taken out of this school!!! HELP?

Okay, so I go to this very exclusive private school. And its a privlage to be excepted into the school. But its a grade advance for each grade, so like for example, if you were an 8th grader you would be learning 9th grade stuff. Its my first year here. And its a little hard for me. But i know its because i dont study. I NEED GOOD STUDYING TIPS please!!! I don't want my mother to take me out. Right now I have C's and B's, mostly C's. And I want A's and B's. And yes, I have a tutor, but for homework. Not studying. Please, from the bottom of my heart, help me!

I NEED studying tips! Please please PLEASE help me! I don't want to be taken out of this school!!! HELP?
First off, don't feel bad for not being a strong studier. The good news is that anyone can be great at studying with just a little guidance.

My 11th grade AP US history teacher has a method of studying that i think is really good. It's called SQ4R.

S- Survey: skim through the chapter for bold words, subtitles, headlines, charts a pictures.

Q- Questions: from your surveying, write questions on the left of your notebook. try to use five big dates, vocab words, and terms you should know

R- Read/write: read the chapter/paper carefully, and go back at times and start paragraphs over again, so you know what the big picture is while you read.

R- Review: Review the questions you wrote, covering up answers you wrote in your notes. Review every night, and before the test. (this won't help very much if you only look at it before class the day of the test).

There is more to this study guide, but one is called APPARTS which doesn't apply to anything and won't help you, and the 4th "R" is Write: write a thesis for one of the questions you created. But that is a waste of time.

I hope this helped you, and good luck!
Reply:Set time aside to study each day. It's all about getting into the habit of it. As soon as you are use to it, you will have no problem studying. Use flash cards to learn vocab and even Math. Read books, they are your friends. Get yourself a grammar book and study the rules. Learning grammar will improve your writing. When ever you have free time, read a book. Like on the way home or on road trips. It's all about putting effort into it. If you really want to stay in this school you have to push yourself to try harder. If you are confused on a subject don't keep quiet because you think your question is too dumb. Believe me, Ive struggled just because I wont ask a question. Hope I help you, and good luck with being in that school. It will do good for your to be in that school. Remember, learning from mistakes will help you remember the next time. Always review your graded work and see what you have to improve.
Reply:I find that listening to music while I study helps.
Reply:chewing gum helps in memorising things
Reply:dry erase board--rewrite things over %26amp; over again until you have it memorized

flashcards--write important things down that way they'll be easier to access than flipping through all your notes

hilighting--hilight key words in your notes %26amp; books so you can just clue in on those important parts %26amp; not get overwhelemed by the details

organize--make sure you stay organized %26amp; you know where everythings @ at all times

tabs--tab your notes %26amp; your books...it's easier to study this way

hope this helps!!
Reply:first of all, I think you are a smart student.

if you do want to get improved, do only these simple steps:

1. dont procrastinate (like what has been advised)

2. while doing the homework with your private teacher, digest what you are doing, not just for the sake completing the tasks. And do it yourself, dont let your tutor do it. You ask for some indepth things from her/him, dont use him/her as your servant in doing your job

3. Spend some time to review other things other than your homework

by the way, you sound like kids who are living in my country!
Reply:read before you go to class. and after class review and write notes about what you understood. that way it'll help you during test days. also ask questions in class. dont just read the book. dont study hard, study smart!

try not to get too additcted to the internet.
Reply:If you really want to study, then you have to make sure that there isn't anything that could bother you. (cell, computer, music...) You have to stay focused.

No one can actualy give you the answer to how to study, because everyone studies in a different way. You have to try different ways before you can find the right one for you. I just know that a good concentration helps and also visualization. Try to visualize what you're memorizing, like your notes and stuff ...

good luck with your grades :)
Reply:ok dont procastionate! do little bits each day till its due then i t wont be rushed. dont push it on ur self in one day ull be hurting if u do!
