For social security disability. I've been told I can get it for my daughter. I had to quit my job b/c I had to take off too much time for her doc visits, sick days, ER visits ect. She has severe asthma. She also has been unofficially diagnosed with Autism. I have to go to school with her almost everyday to tutor her. And I have to go several times a year to pick her up b/c her asthma isn't being able to be controlled with her meds. She is 9 y/o. Does anyone know if we'd qualify or how to find out? I visited their web site but it confused me. It would help us a ton her asthma meds are 400.00 per mo and she will be starting therapy for the Autism in the fall. I don't know how much that is but we have no ins and are barely getting by.
How do you find out if you qualify?
Call your local Social Security office and ask for a face-to-face interview. Bring up your problems. They will get you started.
Reply:If you income quilified, which you do not, you first need to get the doctors to officially diagnose the Austim or other learning disorder. Once that is done the process is rather simple. Autism or learning disorders in children are one of the easist to get SSI for. However making the amount your husband does and your family size would disquilify you. What I would recommend is contact your Dept of Human Services waiver program director. The waiver program looks at the situation, conditions, cost, etc. If she quilifies, she will be put on a waiting list. Most states have only a certain number of slots. Once she is on it, she is on for life, or as long as she needs it. This will come with the states medicaid, and also opens the doors for more services. If your daughter is as bad as what you say, go to the school, and demand testing for an IEP. In that IEP you work to get her assigned an aid that goes with her to her classes and works with her, or as with my son he is kept is a contained classroom with short excursions into the main class. good luck, and don't stop fighting for your daughter medically and educationally. If you don't the school will let her fall behind and never be able or try to catch her up.
Reply:Welcome to planet Earth, babe.,Just think a bit before U DO IT Next time!Your child now costs U.S. society more like 2.1 million inflation adjusted dollars in the course of that sick childs lifetime.Conservative chics, that I just don't always understand.
A lifetime high-functioning autistic sufferer.
I wish I was able to go to my high school prom with a pretty girl.I want life choices, not limitations.
P.S. Don't date Republican chics from the lower classes, just look what happens when 2 white trash get it on in the heat of the night.
Reply:If your husband makes that much why would you need Social Security Disability for your child?
Does he have Health Care Coverage?
Everyone wants to be a victim and have the government take them from cradle to grave.
