Ok so I just finished high school with my high school diploma and all my friends went and did well in school and went to better colleges than me. and now am stuck in a situation where I have to go to community college, I cant do anythin but be happy for them b/c they worked there asses of for it. iwas never pushed ever to do well in school and i rly did want to do well! i jsut had no communication with my parents and i never knew how to ask for help! am not even the rebellious type, instead of doing my homework at home i sat at home and wished that my parents where not so strict and that i could do as much stuff as my friends did. i know that i am very intelligent and i can do well. i just need a little push! i have tried researching ways to push self to do well but it dsnt work.so i guess am just lookin for like personal tutor! i dont what i can do 4 u but if anythin let me know!! if u know a true free online tutor that would be great cause already look up like 100 and non r rly free
Help me please! i need you!?
if you really want something, and i mean really want it, you are, and have to be, your own motivator. you probably don't need a tutor, you just need to feel deep inside of yourself and know what you want.
every time you feel like giving up, just think about your goal and where you want to be and how to get there. set goals! write them down, post them on your walls, do whatever it takes to push your self. even things that you may think are stupid can be goals, like read to page 30 in X or redo notes through chapter 5 for Y. Write To-Do Lists every day to make yourself more consistent and on track with your work.
honestly, i do not believe your problem is that your parents didn't help you; its that you may not have known what you really wanted. finally seeing your friends go off and getting what they wanted has left you thinking "where am i?" it's not that they had more help; it's that they made decisions early on about what they wanted and what it would take to get there. when you have something to work for, it is a lot easier to work. for example, if you have to work a job in order to survive, you will try to enjoy it more than if you do not have to work. when you need the money, you will stick anything out. when you don't, at the first downfall you may start complaining. this goes the same for education; if you need it to get somewhere, you will try your hardest to get there.
think about what you want. start from there and go.
btw: very few tutors are free. the only ones that i know of are high school students that need community service hours. as a college student, this won't help you much. there are very few university level students that will tutor for free unless they need community service hours for something. they are paying for school just like you are.
hope this helps!

Reply:You won't find a tutor online. Look in the Yellow Pages.
And, duh.
No one's going to tutor you for free.
Reply:honestly, once you get past that initial push, things may pick up. try and find some interest in what you're doing for classes. MAKE it interesting.
don't know about online tutors, but keep looking if you think it will help you.
if you have any specific (academic) questions, maybe a prof, or a tutor at your CC can help you. personal tutoring could work just as well.
as for going to CC, its not the worst thing in the world. just work hard there, and go somewhere after. look at it as a way to figure out what you want to do. you can still go pretty much wherever you want, for the most part. even some ives are looking for cc students to diversify their incoming classes.
