It sounds like your math teacher is infact a pessimist who enjoys threatening students and that based on the extra info you posted about your intelligence you are a smart person
Reply:It sounds like that this website was part of the class. If you do not complete that part of the class it is possible for the teacher to fail you. Sounds like you should just complete the stupid web site or tests.

I hope that this helps.
Reply:No matter how hard you work or how much you feel you "deserve" to pass, if you don't complete the assigned work to show that you can do a certain requirement to pass eighth grade math, you don't pass...The tests are part of your grade as well, and if you fail them, it can cause you to fail the class. That's just the way life is.
Reply:Well, you should know how to do that stuff by 8th grade.

Your teacher is prolly pissed because you guys are not showing improvement. Ask your teacher if there is any other way for you to gain the credit by doing extra homework or something like that. Get your parents involved and if need be, talk to administration about what you could do.
Reply:Don't get so upset! A teacher has no right to fail you unless you're failing, completelly immature for your age (not ready to move up a grade), etc. Don't worry! As long as you work hard and are mature enough to move up, you shouldn't do any worrying! It's just a threat to get you to do better!
Reply:Well unfortanately he can hold you back. It is amazing what power these Teachers have if you don't stand up or have enough parents complaining to the school board. I suggest you just do what the Teacher asks and move on.
