Cant stop cutting?

It happened the first time around a year ago. I was 14 and my grandmother had just died. then a couple of days later, a good friend of mine died in a car crash. i lost two important people in less than a week. i tried to talk to my mom but she didnt understand. no one would listen and if they did listen they didnt understand. i'm not crazy and i dont want to see a shrink. I used a kitchen knife that time. I did that for a while but finally stopped when my life starting going uphill.

I've started again. My grades are getting worse and worse and I dont know why. I think Im farely smart but I just CANT pass my math classes. its not that they r hard but i end up failing the tests. i dont need a tutor, i've been in special classes and everything. i dont want ppl to think im dumb, because im not. my mom yelled at me for like three hours about my report card cuz it had a c on it. i kno c's arent that bad but to my mom they are. I locked myself in teh bathroom and used scissors andcant stop

Cant stop cutting?
What you're doing is self-harm and it's very common. It sounds like you're using it as a coping mechanism to deal with things.

Is there anyone you can talk to about this? School councellor? If you trust your mum talk to her but I would make sure whoever you talk to you trust them fully, a councellor has confidentiality that's why I suggested them. I have had experience with this and know how hard it can be talking to people about it and the feelings of guilt that go with self-harm.

There's a number of websites you can visit and I think they will be a great help to you. One I would recommend is http://www.lifesigns.org.uk/ - There's plenty of information that should help you and a brilliant message board where you can post messages like you have just posted and get advice on what to do.

Btw Gina, she doesn't have a serious mental illness as cutting is actually a very common way of dealing with problems. Going to the doctor might be a good idea but only if you feel comfortable with that.

Leah you are NOT sick, please go to the website I suggested and you will see that.

Reply:I do understand you I know you are not crazy I did deal with this with my son who pulled out his hair. I do with you need to find another out for your problems and find someone to talk to it does help. If you need a friend I will talk to you. I am not just saying that to you I do feel for you I have a 11 year old son with problems and the best thing I can tell you is that you should talk to someone who can help you with your problems my be even a shrink would not hurt I know you don't want that be it can help you a lot. I don't know where you live at. My be you should talk to your mother about what you have been doing to your self or even a teacher can help you. I feel so bad for you I wish I can just hold your hand and say its going to be Okla.

As with my son it did take time but he did stop pulling out his hair he had someone to talk to every week and a good doc. who did have to put him on meds. its not a bad thing I hope you can find someone to talk to life is just not that bad may be go for a walk when you feel like cutting your self or go do something on the computer or music does help.

Good luck to you if you need a friend you can e-mail me at mickeygirlmc@yahoo.com
Reply:I suggest a good therapist for helping you to process your feelings.

I also suggest taking care of yourself physically and emotionally.

Here are some good ideas:

1. Do something that gets your heart rate up a bit like, walking, running, biking, and swimming.

2. Eat Whole, Organic foods like: Broccoli, Cabbage, Organic Brown Rice, Beans, Spinach, Sweet Potato, Apples, and other fruits and vegetables in their Natural State.

3. Avoid eating corn, white bread, white rice, white potatoes, candy, sodas, chips, and anything else that you already know you shouldn’t be eating.

4. Drink clean water as your beverage of choice. Avoid Fruit drinks and fruit juices (unless YOU juice them yourself)

5. Stop smoking, drinking beer %26amp; wine, and drinking coffee.

6. Get 8 hours of sleep each night.

7. Hang out with people who want to be healthy.

8. Avoid anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup.

9. Look into taking a multi-vitamin.

Tone up the muscles:

1. Join a gym and get a trainer.

2. If you’re short on cash, start a light stretching %26amp; yoga regimen.

3. Do push-ups, and light dumbbell curls for the upper body.

4. As I said above, walk, run, swim, and or bike

5. Take an aerobics class, a yoga class, or some other fitness class.

6. Join the local YMCA.

7. Buy or borrow this book by Bill Pearl called GETTING STRONGER.

In the book, he describes everything you need for a great fitness plan.

8. Crunches %26amp; Curl ups for the abs.

Mental Health:

1. Get a friend to talk to each day about your feelings.

2. If you have some money or insurance, get a counselor to talk to.

3. Learn how to meditate.

4. Join a support group for the issue you’re dealing with.

5. Ask your Higher Self (or God) for guidance.

6. Start keeping a diary or journal about your feelings %26amp; thoughts.

7. Write a ‘gratitude’ list every night.

8. Do something that makes you happy each day like: listen to your favorite music, draw, paint, write, or anything creative.

9. Do something for someone else who needs help.

10. If the above suggestions don't improve your mental health, talk with your therapist about the possibility of taking some medication.

11. Check out the book FEELING GOOD by David Burns.

Take care of yourself

Reply:Every single cutter is above average intelligence and attractive. When depression was severe the unbalanced chemicals released by the big brains was very strong and it went to the medulla in the fluid and the medulla rerouted the messages of pain. It is a copy cat illness. The pain signal was sent to the pleasure section and a rush developed and you got endorphins . They canceled the depression chemicals and you felt wonderful. Now the logic patch is established and when you get sad and want to have an orgasm so you cut. This will repeat until you get a real love affair and you experience the real kind. Avoid disappointments. The logic patch is affecting the math now.

Reply:Hang in their. I've been through so much pain, it's not funny. You should follow the advice that yamking 7 gave to you.
Reply:You have a serious mental illness and you do need to see a Dr.
Reply:I totally understand what you are talking about not being able to stop. the pain shows you reality. you know you are alive because of the pain and you see the blood. every time I slip up I think of the scars that will be left. I am a figure skater so having scars on my body is not the best thing to have. one of the things that has helped me is taking to my best friend. Wright down your ideas in an Email even if you aren't going to send it. I hope some one can help you even if it isn't me.I hope this question can help me to. just remember at least one person loves you even if you don't know it
Reply:OK first off believe me its is so not worth it i was once a cutter and i had and eating disorder that no1 really knew about..

i was goin through so much my mom gave me up and all this stuff very long story everything was goin wrong... all the people i thought cared about me left me there was no1 there i could talk ... my life was goin doin hill and i was fallin hard...

But there is some1 who really cares and really loves you God ..i found that out.

He was with you all along and is still with you. He cares about and loves . And wants to take you pain away if you just let Him. In the bible it says "come unto me all who are weary and burdened and i will give you rest" matt. 11:28

God has really changed my life around in so many ways He has gave me joy that i have never had before and has shown me what it is to be loved He has placed people in my life to help me overcome things and He wants to do the same for you. If you just believe... He is the only one who can take away your pain.. He is real just look around .

The devil is puttin these thoughts in you mind.. dont let him overcome you.. You are worth more then you can imagine .

cuttin is not the solution.

I dont know if u r a christian or not.. but if you arent just believe and accept Him he will change your life ...

the devil will come in like a flood but God will whipe it ALL away.

i know you dont know me but if u want some1 to talk to or want to know more. i dont uselly do this but my email is
